Our Work Progress: Stories
From strategy to impact
In 2025, several Hultafors Group brands made progress in reducing climate impact, strengthening social responsibility, and advancing more circular ways of working. Here, we highlight a selection of these initiatives.
Fristads: Turning EPD data into action in workwear collections
Fristads introduced Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for clothing in 2019 and is now expanding this approach with the upcoming launch of Multinorm Green – the first multinorm workwear collection with an EPD. By using third-party verified data, Fristads enables both internal improvements and more informed customer choices. Based on 2025 sales, customers reduced water consumption and CO₂e emissions significantly compared to conventional garments.
Solid Gear: Project Circuit – advancing circularity in safety footwear
Through Project Circuit, Solid Gear is exploring a new approach to safety footwear by combining circular design, material innovation, and recycling systems. The initiative introduces the Circular Performance Chassis™, a modular TPU sole unit designed to improve recyclability while maintaining the high performance users expect. Together with a dedicated return and recycling system, Project Circuit is helping shape a more circular future for safety footwear.
W.steps & Telesteps: Powering progress toward self-sufficiency
W.steps installed solar panels at the Nässjö site, strengthening energy efficiency and supporting Hultafors Group’s sustainability ambitions. The system covers around 20% of the site’s annual energy consumption, with surplus power fed to the grid. Plans to extend solar capacity in 2026 further support the move toward energy self-sufficiency.
Snickers Workwear: Expanding European production for greater flexibility and reduced impact
Snickers Workwear has strengthened its supply chain through the acquisition of two production sites in Latvia. The new facilities increase flexibility, enable faster response to changing demand and help reduce the brand's overall environmental impact. By producing selected items closer to key markets, Snickers Workwear can reduce overproduction, lower the need for air freight and support a broader product offering.
Emma Safety Footwear: E-BOUNCE range combines comfort with reduced impact
Emma expanded its professional footwear offering in 2025 with the launch of E-BOUNCE. Designed for indoor environments such as warehousing and logistics, the range combines sneaker-like comfort with certified protection, including lightweight construction, ESD safety and strong anti-slip performance. The new styles also contribute to a 29% lower carbon footprint compared to the average Emma shoe.
PFAS-Free Commitment
Hultafors Group actively strives to phase out PFAS. Snickers Workwear began their phase-out process in 2019, aiming for all regular collection products to be free from intentionally added PFAS chemicals by the end of 2024. Fristads has phased out PFAS in most fabrics, except for specific PPE fabrics in the Flame/Flamestat categories. In 2023, Fristads developed their first PFAS-free PPE garments with EN 13034 certification.
